Split Payments
Activate allows users to split payments as the order dictates. Multiple forms of payment can be used to finalize the total amount of an order.
The process remains the same regardless of what payment methods and number of payments are used. The following example is the most common but can be applied to any payment combination.
Note: Best practice is to do cash first, it helps ensure the correct amount will be applied to any subsequent payments ex. Credit Card, Gift Card, Loyalty
Split Payment, Cash and Credit Card
Step 1: Select cash, enter cash amount, and tap the check mark.
Step 2: See that the balance has now updated. Tap Credit Card, then tap the check mark again to finalize the remaining balance on the external credit card reader.
Note: Split Payment, Multiple Credit Cards
If the payment is split between two different credit cards, the process is the same, but rather than selecting Cash, simply select the Credit Card first to enter the initial amount. Then, select Credit Card a second time for the remaining amount.

AX: Split Payment by Item
Step 1. Select the Split button on the checkout screen.
Step 2. Select Item Split then move the items to split to the different checks. Additional checks can be added by tapping on the plus sign. Once complete, select confirm split.
AX: Split Payment by Even Amount
Step 1. Select the Split button on the checkout screen.
Step 2. Select Even Split to split the check in half between 2 checks. Tapping the plus sign will create additional checks to split the payment over. For example: 5 checks will divide the total ⅕ per check. Once complete, select confirm split.
