Suites - Mandatory Modifiers

Mandatory Modifiers

In Suites, the recipe items that are served with the parent/ordered item are called Mandatory Modifiers. These are not optional, they are for the kitchen production report.

For example, if a Chicken Wing Platter is purchased, the mandatory modifiers attached to the item would be blue cheese, celery, and carrots. For every Chicken Wing Platter sold the kitchen will need to produce blue cheese, celery and carrots as well.

To Create a Modifier 

1. In Connect, click Items.
2. Select Modifiers from the collapsed menu.
3. Select the blue Create button.
4. Add a Name for the modifier.
5. Add a Cost for the modifier.
6. Select Save.

Configure Production Unit

Note: If you do not attach a production unit to the modifier it will not print on the kitchen production report.

1. Search for and select the modifier just created to get to the Details page.
2. Find the Production Unit option.
   
3. Select the Pencil to edit.
4. Choose the unit from the drop-down menu to assign.
   
   

Assign Suite Item

Go to Item Details Page, ensure the item you are adding to the Modifier has “Suite Item” set to Yes.

1. In Connect, click Items.
2. Select Items from the collapsed menu.
3. Search for and select the Desired Item.
4. Select the Details tab.
5. Scroll down to Display section.
   
6. Toggle Suite Item to Yes.
   
   

Assign Modifier to Item

When a Modifier is added to an item, it is required when placing a PreOrder.

1. In Connect, click Items.
2. Select Items from the collapsed menu.
3. Search for and select the desired Item.
4. Select the Modifier Tab.
5. Select the blue Add Modifier button.
6. Search for the Modifier.
7. Select Assign.
   

Note: You may also set a quantity for the modifier. Suite Items must be set to YES in order to set a quantity for modifiers.
